WASHINGTON - While Congress and the Obama administration have given appropriate high-level attention to nuclear threats, the U.S. has failed to adequately address the proliferation of biological threats, a special congressionally appointed commission said in a new report.
In its interim report, the bipartisan Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism, which was established by Congress to build on the 9/11 Commission's work, assessed and identified the nation's biosecurity successes and areas in urgent need of attention.
