1. Introduction
Industrial pollution is an area of growing environmental concern in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, industry contributes about 26 per cent to GDP [1]. The Natural Gas Fertilizer Factory Ltd. (NGFFL), Fenchuganj, Sylhet is a pride and pioneer enterprise of the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC), was established in December, 1961 in the hilly picturesque surroundings of Fenchuganj to meet the urea demand of the country [2].
