The potential impact of global warming means that local governments may have to deal with the effects of severe weather, rising sea levels, changes in agricultural production, and deadly heat waves. According to more than 2,000 of the world's leading scientists, the warming of the earth's temperatures can wreak havoc with regional food supplies and cause unprecedented flooding, droughts, and severe storms. These same scientists say we are now beginning to experience the effects of global warming.
