The state is seeking public comments on two contamination-cleanup agreements -- one for Ballard and the other for Renton.
Washington's Department of Ecology has a proposed agreement with Block at Ballard II to tackle contamination at a site just east of the north end of the Ballard Bridge.
The 2.34-acre property -- in the 1400 block of Northwest 46th Street -- is the former site of Wesmar Co., Inc., a chemical manufacturer and distributor, and Color Tech, Inc., a metal-coating service. Heavy metals and petroleum products have contaminated the soil and groundwater.
Public comment on the proposed agreement will run taken through Nov. 23, 2009.
