What a difference a few years make.
When Leonard Hendricks became Auburn Hills' city manager more than a decade ago, only one significant commercial building was under construction in the city, he said. Last year, Auburn Hills led Oakland County in commercial and office construction.
"It is just so fast-paced now," said Hendricks, who is back in Auburn Hills, serving as its interim city manager.
Auburn Hills' growth boom illustrates the broader development scene in Oakland County.
