Article: Ranbaxy reports Q2 net profit of Rs 116.6 crore.(Financial report)

THE country's largest drug manufacturer Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd has reported a consolidated profit after tax ( PAT) of Rs 116.6 crore in the third quarter ended September 2009, against a loss of Rs 394.5 crore in the same period last year.

The company, however, said its consolidated net sales during the quarter fell by 18 per cent to Rs 1,720.5 crore, against Rs 1,888.4 crore in the same period a year ago. The reason for the drop in sales has been attributed to the economic slowdown.
