Lockheed Martin Corp. has reeled in two new military contracts together worth nearly $2 billion to produce sea-based ballistic missiles and missile-defense systems, the company said Monday.

The nation's largest defense contractor recently received an $853.3 million from the Navy to produce Trident II submarine-launched ballistic missiles. It is the latest order for the Trident II program, led by Lockheed Space Systems Co., based in Sunnyvale, Calif.

The space systems operation employs nearly 400 people at its Cape Canaveral unit, which provides design, development, flight testing and other support services for the Trident II ...
