To the Editor:
I could not help but notice that the article about Afghan opium was buried on Page 11 in The Post-Standard from Oct. 22. We all know how unpopular this war on terror has become. We just avoid it now.
As the father of a United States Marine, I take an interest in the war a little closer than most. Our kids read the articles about how unpopular sending more troops is, and then we ask them to go over and fight? Vietnam: Take 2.
Afghan opium is killing people all over the world. It is also funding weapons purchases for the Taliban. The story didn't make the front page, but finger painting animals ...
