Paul McGinnis keeps the budget balanced and the greens green. He maintains the golf course at the Alta Mesa Country Club in Peoria, Arizona.
As golf course superintendent, McGinnis uses business management skills and spends half his time behind a desk. But he begins his day riding the course. "You've got to get out there," he says, "and see what the grass looks like, because that's the heart and soul of it.
