Aug. 22--Ford Motor Co. has decided to go outside company ranks for yet another foreign-born executive to fill its latest high-level opening -- Ken Whipple's seat as chairman and chief executive officer of Ford Credit.
With his 64th birthday next month, Whipple said he'll call it quits after 40 years with the automaker.
Replacing him will be French-born Philippe Paillart, 47, who comes to Dearborn from Standard Chartered Bank of London, England. Paillart, who also worked at Renault AG, will take over Whipple's job on Sept. 1 and will report to Ford Chairman Alex Trotman.
