Six in 10 grocery shoppers across 10 markets, including the U.S., would go out of their way to shop at an environmentallyfriendly supermarket, according to a survey released by Synovate, the market research arm of AEGIS GROUP PLC, London. Similarly, a hefty 79% of respondents found the idea of recycling facilities in supermarkets and grocery stores interesting. In contrast, 36% of shoppers simply want nothing more than to 'get in and get out' of a store, according to the July 2009 survey, involving 6,700 grocery shoppers. These "no-frills" shoppers are led by the Dutch and Canadians (both 51%) and Americans and Brazilians (both 49%).
