SOUTHBRIDGE - The owner of Knight Chevrolet on Route 169 says spending millions of dollars on a new building without any assurance that he would continue as a dealer would be a clunker of a deal.
According to Chester F. Pietrzak, a northeast General Motors executive in recent months asked him to build a multimillion-dollar building on his Worcester Street site.
If not, GM wouldn't send Mr. Pietrzak any 2010 automobiles.
"I said, `What kind of guarantees are you going to give us we're going to have a franchise?' He said, `We don't give those anymore. There is no guarantee.'"
