27 October 2009 - Norwegian company Aker Seafoods ASA (OSL: AKSO) said today it turned to a net profit of NOK99m in the third quarter of 2009 from a net loss of NOK66m a year earlier.

Operating revenue rose to NOK609m from NOK586m. The improvement was mainly due to the increased production in the Norwegian and French business segments, the company said.

Exports of fresh cod to France rose by 52% up to the middle of August. However, consumer prices fell by 11%.
