In the July 2009 issue of Mushroom News, I discussed the many changes that will be taking place in the PECO (Philadelphia Electric Company) territory when the deregulation of electricity generation is completed on December 31, 2010. PECO will continue to serve as your EDC (Electric Distribution Company) or your "Wires" Company. As such, PECO will be responsible for the transmission and distribution of the electricity that you use. PECO will be responsible for line repair, line maintenance and customer services including billing.
