Equatorial Guinea has ramped up natural gas production as world demand rockets in a bid to become the regional powerhouse in the sector.

The resource-rich African state says it will double its natural gas exports within five years, though the blueprint it is drafting with partners to do so has been delayed for months, a top energy official said on Wednesday.
