Let's say you're a sports fan, a first-time visitor to Syracuse, and you park before a game in a lot at Manley Field House. A few hours later, ready to head home, you get into your car and turn onto Colvin Street. Your goal is returning to Interstate 481, and you notice a state directional sign near Manley that indicates you can get to I-481 by going west on Colvin.
You trust the sign. You drive until you reach an entrance ramp for Interstate 81, where another sign for I-481 tells you to ignore the ramp and to continue along Colvin. You do. You cross South Salina Street and eventually hit South Avenue.
