Aug. 25--Bids and deals came tumbling in to give London markets a much-needed boost, sending blue-chip shares soaring by 2 percent at one stage with a 101-point gain. Indications that Wall Street will be sharing London's optimism kept the Footsie above the 5600 level with a 77.8-point rise to 5631.5 Some dealers were still expressing concern about the apparent fragility of the gains, which spread to all the other indices except the SmallCap.
British Aerospace shares took off 8 pence to 4428 pence after the order from British Airways (down 5 1/2 pence to 491 pence on political interference worries) for its joint ...
