FOR THE many families spending the holiday season at home, the advice for entertaining is to keep things simple, says Durban decorator Margaret Brodie.
"Opt for understated elegance that won't leave your guests feeling uncomfortable at a table too dolled up to enjoy," she says.
Brodie suggests a white table with contrasting mahogany chairs, set with white and clear glass crockery, allowing the centrepiece to offer its colour.
"You don't need expensive flowers for a centrepiece. I've used a healthy green plant in a beautiful pot instead.
