WORKING at a women's magazine, I get a lot of letters from women detailing dating and relationship dilemmas.
We can all relate to the perennial problems of male/female communication styles and commitment issues, but there is one infuriatingly common problem that drives me into a blind rage whenever I read it.
Typically it goes: 'I am a 35-year-old single woman. I seem to have no problem attracting men, but the relationship rarely gets beyond the first-date stage. My best friend says men don't like women who are more intelligent than they are, or who have strong opinions, and that I am too intimidating. Should I "play dumb" ...
