MOST OF YOU KNOW ALL about Springfield's hugely popular XD. For those of you who don't, the Croatian-built XD is constructed on an injection-molded polymer frame. The slide reciprocates on rails integral to the solid steel locking block and dual rails at the rear of the frame. It is CNC machined from solid steel and sports either a Melonite finish or, in the case of the stainless steel versions, a satin finish.
XD pistols have six separate safety devices: a grip safety at the rear of the frame; a trigger block safety on the trigger; a plunger-type firing pin safety; a disconnector that prevents the pistol from being fired unless ...
