CWMBRAN Boating Lake, one of the area's most popular public access fisheries, has suffered a major pollution with many carp well over 20lb among the masses of dead fish removed from the water.
Work was coming to an end on the new boathouse alongside the lake when anglers spotted distressed fish all over the surface.
Torfaen Local Authority control the lake and surrounding park and alerted Environment Agency Wales which sent officers to investigate.
