NEW YORK - Finally, the New York Yankees have met their match this postseason.
And if the Phillies keep up the kind of pummeling they applied last night, the Yankees might have met their downfall as well.
It's too late for the Twins and Angels to do anything about it, but the Cliff Lee-led Philadelphia Phillies delivered a smackdown tutorial on how to silence the Yankees and stun fans who thought their team had the homefield advantage.
Not anymore they don't, not after dominant starting pitching and a mix of thunder, speed and patience at the plate resulted in the Phillies' 6-1 Game 1 World Series victory.
