Article: Competition Bureau Resolves Issues in Merger of Merck and Schering-Plough.

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, Oct 29, 2009 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- The Competition Bureau announced today that it has reached an agreement with Merck & Co., Inc. and Schering-Plough Corporation to resolve competition concerns with respect to their proposed merger.

This agreement follows a detailed review of the proposed transaction, during which the Bureau concluded that the merger would likely lead to a substantial lessening or prevention of competition in the supply of certain human and animal health products.
