DALLAS, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CompX International Inc. announced today sales of $29.4 million for the third quarter of 2009 compared to $43.9 million in the same period of 2008. For the nine months ended September 30, 2009, sales were $87.1 million compared to $128.1 million in the previous year. CompX reported an operating loss of $200,000 in the third quarter of 2009 compared to an operating loss of $4.9 million in the same period in 2008, and reported an operating loss of $2.0 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2009 compared to income of $3.1 million for 2008.
