PM says trade union rights have to be respected: Dasgupta
New Delhi, October 28, 2009 (PTI) - Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Wednesday said that disgruntled employees cannot contribute to economic growth and trade union rights have to be respected, according to senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Gurudas Dasgupta.
Dasgupta, who met the Prime Minister here Wednesday after he was detained near Gurgaon on his way to address a workers' rally last week, told PTI that Singh also asserted that trade unions were an integral part of the democratic system and their rights needed to be respected.
