Although they scoff at the comparison, photographer David LaChapelle and stylist Isabella Blow have forged an exciting, eccentric collaboration that is as creatively fertile as that of '30s rule-breakers Salvador Dali and Elsa Schiaparelli. But, as the interviews below - in conjunction with these pictures - demonstrate, LaChapelle and Blow delight in taking sex and voyeurism and giving them an outrageous, unmistakably contemporary twist.
KARL PLEWKA: When you were growing up in England, were you always an individual?
ISABELLA BLOW: Yes. I was an anarchist at quite an early age. My mother was very bourgeois, and she hated the way I dressed.
