Encore Wire Corporation (NASDAQ Global Select: WIRE) announced results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009 (see also Encore Wire Corporation).
Net sales for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 were $168.7 million compared to $296.3 million during the third quarter of 2008. Lower prices for building wire sold in the quarter ended September 30, 2009 accounted for much of the decrease in net sales dollars, declining 25.1% per copper pound sold versus the same period in 2008.
