In its euphoria over the approval for the establishment of an international war-crimes court and its chastisement of the United States for voting against it, the country's major metropolitan media have failed to report one small detail: Under the treaty, Israeli settlements on the West Bank could be considered war crimes.
As Article 8 states, it is a war crime for an occupying power to "transfer, directly or indirectly," parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies, "or to deport or transfer" all or parts of the population of the occupied territory within or outside this territory."
