AS THE youngest of seven siblings raised in what was once one of Wales' most industrial and ethnically diverse communities, she has often been described as more down to earth than demanding.

But the music producer responsible for her first album of original songs in 20 years says the diva in Dame Shirley Bassey is alive and kicking.

However, David Arnold says Bassey's demands are born from a desire for musical perfection.
