Voters OK payment, end Quabbin uncertainty
HARDWICK - Voters last night accepted the Finance Committee recommendation, increased its payment to the Quabbin Regional School District by $16,230 and in doing so ended a school budget stalemate that could have resulted in a state-imposed dollar amount.
Lawrence C. Jaquith, Finance Committee chairman, told voters their feelings about whether Quabbin was deserving of the additional money for elementary and secondary education were somewhat irrelevant.
