The dollar strengthened 13-15 kopecks to 29-29.2 rubles/$1 in the first few minutes of trading on the MICEX exchange as the euro weakened in the international forex market and the global capital markets worsened.
This is 6-8 kopecks above today's official rate.
The euro was down 7 kopecks to 43.31 rubles/EUR1.
The ruble rose 3 kopecks to 35.43 rubles against the dual currency basket ($0.55 and EUR 0.45).
