Chalco reports year's first quarterly net profit in Q3
Shanghai. October 28. INTERFAX-CHINA - The Aluminum Corporation of China Co. Ltd. (Chalco), the dual Shanghai Stock Exchange and Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed subsidiary of China's largest aluminum and alumina producer, announced on Oct. 27 that it generated a net profit of RMB 21.27 million ($3.11 million) in the third quarter of 2009, marking its first quarterly net profit in 2009.
The return to profit is attributable to recovering demand from the transportation and packaging industries and higher aluminum prices. The quarterly profit also represents an 87.71 percent decrease from that recorded ...
