NEW YORK -- Retailers are opening more environment-friendly stores as part of their efforts to operate more sustainably.
Tesco PLC's Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market grocery chain is one of the most recent retailers to open a store that qualifies for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification from the nonprofit U.S. Green Building Council.
