Shri G.K. Vasan, the Honourable Minister for Shipping received from the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), a demand draft for a sum of Rs.220,53,74,223/- towards the final dividend by the company for the financial year 2008-09. The demand draft was handed over to the Hon ble Minister by the Chairman & Managing Director of SCI, Shri S. Hajara in presence of Shri A.P.V.N. Sarma, Secretary(Shipping) and other officials of the Ministry of Shipping. This dividend amount reflects the earnings on the 80.12% shareholding of the Government of India in the SCI.
