Some 70% of financing for infrastructure projects in Mexico comes from the banking sector, paper La Jornada reported banking association ABM's president Ignacio Deschamps as saying.

Of the 164bn pesos (US$12.3bn) required to fund infrastructure projects during 2009, banks will have provided 115bn pesos, Deschamps said at a meeting with manufacturing industry chamber Canacintra.
