THREE firms have been prequalified by the Uganda National Roads Authority to bid for the rehabilitation of the Nalubaale Bridge on River Nile in Jinja. We have established that the traffic volumes have increased at a faster rate than anticipated in the previous forecasts, Dan Alinange, the corporate communications manager, said.
The bridge and dam structural deck elements are over-stressed and piers show significant scouring. These need to be repaired urgently as we wait for a new bridge to be built.
