HWANGE Colliery Company Limited (HCCL) can now supply enough coal to run two of the country s three small thermal power stations, HCCL managing director Mr Fred Moyo has said.
Zimbabwe has three small thermal power stations in Bulawayo, Harare and Munyati.
The power stations stopped operating more than a decade ago due to an acute shortage of coal, among other operational challenges.
Zesa in August said it was planning to import coal from Botswana to fire the Bulawayo Power Station.
