IT SEEMS dogs have taken a liking to the runway. If VVIP movements were not enough to stall landings and take- offs at the Indira Gandhi International Airport ( IGIA), stray canines have added to the pile- up.

Around 9.30 am on Wednesday, a stray dog on runway 11- 29 forced the air traffic controller ( ATC) to stop the landing of a flight for over an hour. Harried passengers waited in the air as the drama unfolded, just after three VVIPs took off from the IGIA. These incidents delayed 15 flights, while two were diverted to Jaipur because they were running out of fuel.
