DRINK more than two glasses of wine a day and the health police will be on your case. But plant a grapevine and you could soon be noshing your way towards that virtuous 'five a day'.
This won't be as jolly as a flute of champagne, but fresh grapes are not to be sniffed at -- not, that is, unless they're ripe, golden muscats. Then, a waft of their aroma is as good as a glass of the finest Beaumes de Venise.
You can always make room for a vine, even in a tiny garden. Productive, with elegant foliage which colours superbly in autumn, these climbers can be disciplined to grow to any size and shape. You can even cultivate them ...
