NEW YORK -- Applying antioxidant vitamins and minerals directly to the skin may significantly reduce long-term damage caused by environmental exposure and promote natural self-repair of some of the damage already done, according to the results of an 18-month satellite study of the Supplementation, Vitamin and Mineral and Antioxidant (SU.VI.MAX) trial.
The French research project is the largest nutritional study ever conducted in Europe to evaluate the role of antioxidant vitamins in disease prevention and health promotion.
