Luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co said it is fairly optimistic about trading in the upcoming Christmas holiday season, but said its flagship New York store was still not in positive territory. "We are reasonably optimistic about the holiday season," company president James Quinn said. "We are pleased with where we are right now."
Trading at its New York store remains difficult, however, as recession discourages shoppers from spending on Tiffany jewels that can cost $I00,000 and more.
