A team from the International Monetary Fund that has been in the country for the last two weeks says, Kenya is facing challenges in her efforts towards full economic recovery, due to a series of economic shocks that have affected the economy since last year.
The IMF team led by a Senior Advisor in the African Department, Michael Atingi-Ego, says high energy costs and a shrinking export market have literally compounded an already difficult situation for the country. However the team is happy about Kenya's efforts aimed at reducing public debt.
