The Mphanda Nkuwa hydroelectric dam, on the Zambezi river in Mozambique, is due to start producing electricity in 2015, the chairman of Brazilian construction company Camargo Correa said in Cape Town.
During a conference organised by South Africa's Standard Bank and held in Cape Town, Vitor Hallack noted that his company was heading up the Mphanda Nkuwa project and added that initially US$2 billion would be invested and the dam would produce 1,500 megawatts of power.
