Poland's largest bank by assets, PKO Bank Polski SA (PKO2.WA), said Thursday it has raised 5.13 billion zloty ($1.78 billion) from issuing 250 million new D-series shares, aimed to bolster its capital.
The cost of the offering was PLN9.9 million zloty.
Chief Executive Zbigniew Jagiello said the proceedings raised via the new share issue will be used to "accelerate the bank's organic growth in 2010 and 2011."
