Transportation offiicials from the U.S. and Uganda agreed at an Atlanta aviation conference to loosen government authority over cargo and passenger flights between their countries.
The so-called Open Skies Agreement entered into force when Transportation Department Assistant Secretary for Aviation Susan Kurland and John Nasasira, Ugandan minister of works, housing and communication, inked the pact at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel downtown.
The signing session was part of the opening plenary at the U.S. - Sub-Saharan Africa: Partners in Aviation conference, hosted by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency Oct. 26-28. The pact ...
