SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17 I was Take That's official biographer in those heady, early days, so I got to know them all very well. Robbie Williams was always the headstrong, slightly crazy one. The cheeky chappie prone to all manner of success and excess.
We fell out when he left the band, and disappeared so far up his own backside there were fears a surgeon might be needed to extricate him.
So I was curious how his long-awaited comeback would go on The X Factor.
The answer, according to most reviews, was badly. Critics said he was wild-eyed, nervy, and didn't sing that brilliantly.
