IT LOOKS as if Christmas has been cancelled for Ireland's civil servants, bankers and broadcasters as the public sector and taxpayer bailed-out financial institutions, for the most part, aren't funding festive parties for their staff.
With the Government spending e23bn more than it's getting from taxes it's not hard to see why Ebenezer Scrooge seems to have taken over and turkey dinners and champagne are off the menu.
