Nov 01, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian sharemarket is likely to take its lead from the US bourse when trading resumes on 2 November 2009. A downturn in consumer confidence saw the US market fall by 2.5 per cent on 30 October, and the futures market expects the Australian bourse to fall by 118 points in response. The S&P/ASX 200 fell by 4.5 per cent in the last week of October, finishing the month at 4,643.2. It has fallen by 32 per cent since reaching a record 6,828.7 points on 1 November 2007.
