Sep. 3--WASHINGTON--In dueling petitions filed nearly simultaneously late Wednesday night, Microsoft Corp. and the Justice Department each claimed that the other isn't playing fair in the antitrust case now in U.S. District Court here.
In its brief, Microsoft claimed that the government is attempting to improperly broaden the antitrust case against the software giant on the eve of trial, without giving the company adequate time to prepare.
The Justice Department brief, filed separately, alleged that Microsoft is not cooperating with its investigation. It asked the U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson to compel ...
