Dhaka, Oct 29 (UNB)-As the condemned ex-army officers waited on the death row for years, a defense counsel Thursday fired a broadside at the High Court judges who one after another had felt embarrassed to hear their appeals in the Bangabandhu murder case and thus prolonged their sufferings.
"Embarrassment of the High Court judges not only frustrated the space of judicial process but also prolonged the agony of death for the condemned prisoners in violation of the constitutional right," Barrister Abdullah Al Mamun told the Appellate Division while making his argument in the belated appeal hearings in the case.
